Places to eat in Newport
Burger fans have been spoilt for choice recently, Newport having turned into a patty-lovers' paradise. Meat Bar & Grill, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and Pretentious Burgers are sure to satisfy any carnivore’s cravings.
It’s not just comfort food on offer though, with Mojo The FoodBar adding Andy Beaumont as their executive head chef. Beaumont previously worked at several Michelin star restaurants and certainly lives up to his reputation for excellent fine dining. Bistrot Pierre is a high quality yet affordable French style dining experience, I would recommend the Boeuf Bourguinon, it will transport you to a French Chalet overlooking a vineyard.
There are also plenty of coffee shops and cafés to be seen, if you aren’t feeling up for a full meal. The Café at the Ridgeway has quickly made a name for itself by having great coffee, a wide selection of teas and freshly baked cakes to accompany a great view of the Bristol Channel. You would never believe the building was formerly a public loo!
If a greasy spoon is more your speed, then look no further than That Café on Risca Road. Serving everything from a full English to avocado on toast, this is a great place to enjoy a lazy Sunday morning whilst taking in the unique décor.
